South Lane 3.7" Gun Emplacements, Widnes

Visited with Rookie, Appo and Warbie.

Although dated roughly around the time we did this site, I'm putting this up in March 2010 near enough a year after we did this place, This was what first got myself hooked on the 'UE Drug'

Some of the site is seperated into too as a farmer owns some of the land, The only trouble we had was with a guy who lived next door saying climbing up the tower was dangerous Haha.
The AA Battery was used to attack the Luffwaffer over Burtonwood Airbase and Liverpool Docks during the Liverpool and Manchester 'Blitz'. It was home to six 3.7" guns, stores and radio room. A POW camp was built before this then the AA Battery, This is so the Luffwaffer would not bomb their own people. The tower thought to be a water tower at the front of the site was a Gun and Search Light placement to look over the former POW camp.

Im still doing it now, Just bigger and more stupid...
